The São Paulo is a School program was launched in 2005 by the Municipal Department of Education. From its implementation to December of 2013, Morungaba actively participated in the proposed activities.
The program was created with the purpose of extending the time students stayed in the school environment, and to do this, educational, cultural, recreational, and sports activities were promoted. Morungaba was chosen, through Public Calls, and made agreements with the Regional Departments of Education of Guaianases, Ipiranga, Pirituba, Freguesia do Ó/Brasilândia, and Butantã, with workshops in dance, drama, music, capoeira, art, storytelling, chess, robotics, karate, gardening, and others, in several municipal schools and CEUs – Unified Education Centers.
Over the years, this program changed its name to “Contraturno” (“Off-Hours”) and then “Ampliar” (“Extend”)
