Núcleo Morungaba implemented Estimulação (Stimulation) aiming to offer free workshops on body movement, art, and story games, providing children and youth in situations of foster care and/or with disabilities moments of trust, solidarity, respect, and group adaptation.
“Estimulação,” which has modules lasting six months, had several partners throughout its history: SESC Vila Mariana, Itaú Social Foundation, São Paulo Cultural Center, libraries, museums, and the Ibirapuera / SME Center for Sociability and Cooperation (CECCO Ibirapuera).
Beginning 2009, Estimulação began to be carried out at the Morungaba headquarters, and on the weekends, there were cultural outings with groups of children who live in shelters.
History of the Estimulação Program:
1991 – The program begins using a physical location at the São Paulo Cultural Center
1999 – The Ministry of Culture, through the Cultural Support Department, recognizes the Estimulação program based on Rouanet Act (No. 8,313/91). This year, the program begins to be held at SESC Vila Mariana and acquires new partners: PUC/SP Psychology Education Center, Colégio Santa Cruz, and FEBEM-DT 2 – Sociability Homes.
Audience served: children in situations of foster care, residents of the Jardim Miriam shanty town, and users of SESC Vila Mariana.
2001 – Held at the São Paulo Cultural Center, supported by Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo – PUC/SP, School of Psychology – Education Center, Psychophysical Integration Course and School of Communication and Body Art.
Audience served: the shelters Abrigo Reviver and Abrigo Pinheiros, “Minha Casa” – Associação Beneficente Santa Fé, Centro Social Nossa Senhora do Bom Parto/Casa Coração de Maria and Movimento de Moradia do Centro (MMC).
2002 – Held at the São Paulo Cultural Center, supported by volunteers and interns from PUC/SP School of Psychology.
Audience served: the institutions Movimento de Moradia do Centro (MMC), Casa Coração de Maria, and Marechal Floriano State School.
2003 – Held at the São Paulo Cultural Center, supported by interns from the Medical School/Occupational Therapy/USP, PUC/SP School of Communication and Body Arts, and Colméia – Youth Service Institution/Course for Early Childhood Educators.
Audience served: “Minha Casa” – Associação Beneficente Santa Fé, and the shelter Abrigo Aclimação.
2004 – Carried out at the Ibirapuera Park Center for Sociability and Cooperation, supported by interns from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo – PUC/SP: School of Psychology – Psychophysical Integration Center – 5th year, School of Pedagogy – 4th, and Communication and Body Arts; from the University of São Paulo – USP: Medical School – Department of Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy – Occupational Therapy Course – 4th year, and from Mackenzie University – School of Physical Education.
Audience served: the institutions “Minha Casa” – Associação Beneficente Santa Fé, Abrigo Aclimação, and hard-of-hearing children from DERDIC – Education and Rehabilitation Division for Communication Disorders.
2005 – Estimulação receives sponsorship from the Itaú Social Foundation, and the program begins to be held at various locations:

Audience served: Hard-of-hearing students from DERDIC – Education and Rehabilitation Division for Communication Disorders.
2006 – The last year of Itaú Social Foundation sponsorship. Estimulação also gains the support of “Se Toque” – Institute of Social Development.
Locations: Clarice Lispector, Monteiro Lobato, Raul Bopp, and Anne Frank Libraries for Children and Youth/Municipal Department of Culture.
Audience served: children in situations of foster care, students from public schools, and users of the libraries.
2007 – Estimulação is held at the Ibirapuera Park Center for Sociability and Cooperation/Municipal Health Department and supported by interns from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo – School of Psychology.
Audience served: “Minha Casa” – Associação Beneficente Santa Fé, and Child and Adolescent Reference Center CRECA/Vila Mariana.
2008 – Location: Ibirapuera Park Center for Sociability and Cooperation, supported by interns from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo – School of Psychology and São Camilo University/Occupational Therapy.
Audience served: Children from the “Minha Casa” – Associação Beneficente Santa Fé.
2009 / 2014 – Estimulação begins to be held at Núcleo Morungaba headquarters.
2012 – Supported by CONPARES – Coordination Office of Sociability, Participation, and Entrepreneurship – São Paulo Public Administration. Two educators were hired:
Mariana de Oliveira Costa and Telma Lazaro da Guarda.
2015 – Estimulação, supported by PUC/SP – School of Psychology, implements its actions at the Odila Franco shelter. Partnership with the shelters continues on weekends.
