From November 2005 to December 2008, the Valuing the Educator program offered to staffs of Helpers of Early Childhood Education who work with children ages 0 to 5 theoretical, experiential, and practical training about the role of the bond, art, and the body in a child’s development. The Program integrated with the routine of each Early Childhood Education Center (CEI) with the active participation of the director, student counselor, and educational helpers.
The program was divided into 3 modules; “Welcome” under the coordination of Claudia Regina Passos, “First Discoveries” with Christina Ribeiro Costa, and “Scribbles” with Suzana Macedo Soares.
The implementation occurred in November 2005 in 4 CEIs in the city of São Paulo, including regions in the district of Ipiranga– CEI CEU Menino, Sé – CEI Wilson José Abdala, Vila Prudente – CEI Jardim Guairacá, and Vila Mariana – CEI Suzana Campos.
Associação Morungaba’s staff was supported by the Technical Guidance Department (DOT), Special Projects Department (DPE), and by the Ipiranga Supervisor and Coordinator.
Beginning in February 2006, all of the CEIs were served by the Ipiranga Coordinator, supported by the Municipal Department of Education.
In 2007 and 2008, the program was funded by the sponsorship of the Minidi Pedroso Institute of Social Art and Education (IMPAES), and the consulting office of the Study and Research Center for Cultural Education and Community Action (CENPEC). The Stefanini Institute funded the action at the CEI Carolina Maria de Jesus from the Butantã Regional Department of Education.
